Knife Tradin' Philosophy
Yesterday I did a bit of knife trading. My philosophy is: Don't trade knives with someone who shares your interest in the kind of knives you like. Find someone who likes a completely different type of knife. The guy I was trading with like the modern, tricked-out kind of knife mostly made in China or Japan. he considers an 80 year old jack knife to be out-dated junk, which is just what I cherish.
Yesterday I traded a Pakistan made aluminum handled stiletto I picked up in a Florida yard sale for $1. In return I got this 1929-1931 vintage Remington Boy Scout RS 3333. It cleaned up to look like this: You might say I robbed the guy, but he's happy and I'm happy. That's what good tradin' is all about. You trade with a guy who is knowledgeable and likes what you like and probably you both come away thinking you got took.

As long as both parties are happy then no harm, no foul in my opinion.
I'm always looking for ways to trade or barter because you can get very innovative and creative. I once painted a woman's house for a 1966 VW and drove that car 80,000 miles with almost no problems. She was happy with a newly painted house and I had wheels for about 5 years.

As was stated before;if both parties are satisfied then there is no problem. I once traded a 1966 Chevrolet Bel Air 4 door sedan for a Breitling watch. I bought the car for $300 from my brother-in-law who had that much in it.I don't know what my friend Bob had in the watch but it was likely close to that.Made that trade in the mid-1980's.I still have the watch and it is worth a lot more than the purchase price. The Chevy is long gone and Bob is STILL trying to get his watch back! But at the time we were both happy with the deal.
And the other posters were right;there SHOULD be an arrest warrant out for you! lol Great deal!

You guys are funny. I love it. Nothing more fun than finding a nice old knife, at a yard sale, flea market, or a good trade.

a trading story from the past
waaay back in early 70's my brother-in-law had a mossburg pump shotgun that i wanted bad. i had 8-track tape recorder. we traded back and forth and back and forth until 8 tracks went the way of the dinosaur . my timing was off and he ended up with the shotgun. they split up in late 70's and i thought it was gone forever. 30+years pass and couple of months ago i got a message on Facebook with him holding the shotgun sticking his tongue out at me.
that @#&^$$$%$^& !!
