Another Bulldog question

Just need help dating this knife. It doesn't feel like a first generation. It does have the fighting dogs, but no date like most of the post double head knives I have seen. It feels real similar to the fourth generation knives I have but of course tang stamp is different. What really throws me is the reverse tang on the main blade. "Bulldog Brand Germany". No hand forged and no solingen. Anyway, thanks for the help.

That knife looks like a 1st generation knife to me. Is the closed length 3 1/4" ?.

It is 3-1/4. I bought it thinking it was, but the tang stamp really threw me. Just hadn't seen one that didn't have the hand forged and solingen. For $35 though I figured I'd take the chance.

Thanks again Tom.

That knife would be BKC # 54. They are very good knives, over 400 were produced, one of the highest production bulldogs. The stamp is fine, since it is a small knife that may be why they didn't put more words on it. The main tip off to this knife that it is a 1st generation knife is the color of the bone. Bulldog almost exclusively used this really dark brown bone in the 1st generation. Dates 1978 to 1982. ::tu::
