I purchased the German eye chief pictured below from a good friend. Got really interested in these and found the other knife, which I believe is the triple eye sodbuster(?) Where can I find out more information on the eye knives and dating them. Thanks, John

Welcome to AAPK. Don't let Tim fool ya. He'd steal the pennys off a dead man's eyes and use them to buy German knives.

Otherwise, Tim's an honest, upstanding citizen.

both eyes are good finds with the soddie being an earlier release. i think the big chief was issued in the early 90s or late 80s & was very popular with eye fans .my initial reaction to the etching on the chief blade was not positive but after chatting with the whole seller i became a fan. these were bought up entirely at the early time of their release & went up in price fast for the short time they were available.both are certainly more desirable than most of the more recent issues. Thanks for the info! I had done a lot of looking around at different eye models, but not seen the chief listed anywhere. There doesn't seem to be the wealth of information out there like there is for Case and other knives.

There has been only one meaningful article on Eye Brands. It was written by Joe Dobbs and first published in Knife World in August 1983. It came around again in The Best of Knife World in 1993.
