All About Pocket Knives

I really like these bone handles on this rooster I found at our local flea-market a few months ago...but I have some small concerns. It's description...4" closed, has the "fight'n rooster" etch on the main blade, the tang has simply "Solingen Germany" with no two roosters fighting (that seemed a little unique)...and the backside of the tang reads "Frank Buster Cutlery". My main concern is that the secondary blade has quite a bit of wobble and no markings at all... just doesn't seem to fit the knife. The size..the fit..and the overall look. It might be right...but I'm not sure if this secondary blade is original to the knife. I've enclosed pictures hoping to get some opinions. I recently did some e-bay bidding on Parkers rooster book published back in 1994...thinking I could find this particular knife in that book and do some comparisons...but of course, I was outbid. You know how that goes! But anyways, if anyone has some info on this pattern...the tang stamp... opinions on the unmarked blade...or simply opinions on the knife in general...it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

does anyone recall seeing this knife in Parker's book??...not inquiring the value...only if it's in there and what time period it came from ? Can't find this knife anywhere on the web.

The secondary blade looks to have some lettering when i enlarge the picture.

Is that just the photo or does the back scale have a gap in it?

the photo might be a little deceiving...in hand, there's no markings I can see on the secondary blade on either side...and what looks to be a gap I think is actually a reflection or shadow...the scales rise above the bolsters just a hair. I'm pretty sure I've seen this bone on Rooster's before...but this knife in general has me perplexed. I'd be grateful for your opinion...whether it be good news or bad news. Thanks Tim !

The stamp on the main blade doesn't concern me as i have seen this before on early Roosters.

The second blade not being stamped does cause concern, i have never seen one where as all blades aren't stamped.

I hope someone with the book chimes in. I would like to learn something today.

Found that knife on page 155 of Parkers Fightn' Rooster book. My scanner is not real good so forgive the poor pic. Looks the same as yours to me. Slim

Glad to help. as I said, my scanner is poor and the pics in the book are low definition. One thing that didn't show up on my scan is that knife is from 1978. Slim
