Just bought a new Trevor Ablett with a carbon steel lambsfoot blade and buffalo scales. Trevor is one of the last independents still making knives by hand in Sheffield

Sweet
S-K,
That is an awesome knife. Does the fellow have a web site? I too, would like to know the price. That is a very nice looking knife.
Do you know what type of steel he uses?
I love the Wharncliffe & the handle shape. I guess I would call it a Wharncliffe Jack.

I think I have a bad case of knife lust.

That doesn't happen to me very often, well not with new knives.........................well, it is the first time..................................today!

You answered some of my questions while I was typing them!
Thanks for the web site!
I see that he calls it a Lambfoot, Double brass Bolster. He has several nice variations!

Thanks Dale. Glad it made your day... so far

. The link is
http://www.littlemesters.co.uk/ Ablett is second link from the bottom in the left column.
Once you get to the Ablett knife page, there is another link there that takes you to a series of pics and info on Trevor and his knife making.
I don't know the specifics of the steel but you could email Littlemesters. The chap's name there is Nigel. He is very helpful.

I saw that knife Ken. She looks a real beauty with all that file work

. It is going for a very pretty penny. We want to know much more about it...who made it and when it was made for e.g. I've emailed Nigel to request more information.
