All About Pocket Knives

I have a rather controversial type Fight'n Rooster 3 blade stockman style knife. I don't know much about it but it has the white pearly type looking handles with lots of designs on two of the blades. Apart from all the writing and deigns, and #1 of 1000, it does say Japan on one of the blades. It was aparantly made around 1981, because it says the fallowing ( INVISIBLE EMPIRE 1981) then, Knights of the ku klux klan under that on the large blade. There is a stamped number below there and fight'n rooster under that stamped number. The next smaller blade beside that one say's Official (1of 1000) Bill Wilkinson Imperial Wizzard and two fight'n roosters stamped under that at the base of the blade. Can anyone tell me anything at all about this knife, where it was made and what it's really worth?? Anyone know why it was made, and if there are really 1000 of them all together? If so I guess its nice I have #1. I can take pics later if needed, but I don't have any ready at this time.

1 of 1000 just means that it is one out of a thousand made. Not that it is the first one.(#1)

maybe that stamped number 302 on the blade is what the actual number is, not #1, any further information on it at all would really help. Also any idea's on what its worth would help too. I would like to sell it, but only if it is actually worth selling.

Digital without a flash would be better. Where does it say, "Japan?"

This knife is very similar to the Fight'in Rooster pearl handled knife in the NKCA museum set which also had "glued on handles" and was made in Japan . The value of this knife is $45 - $50 (except to those who collect "invisible empire" memorabilia , then the sky is the limit) .

Here are the outdoor no flash pics, you can see the pearl now. Also the Japan is on the back of the Large Blade, near where it meets the hanlde. It's hard to see unless your looking for it. A friend of mine's Mom was going to buy it, because her family roots go back to the Klan. Then she saw that Japan on the back of the blade, threw it down on the table and said, "This is a cheap Japanese Knock off piece of crap" and I would have it if you gave it to me!!! Then she said, "It's not even real" its just junk made in japan, probably copied from the real one, but this aint the real one!! She was was pissed off to say the least, and that's after I drove all the way accross town to show it to her, after she called me and told me she wanted it.
So I am very curious here.... is she full of crap trying to rip me off ??? or is this a real knife ??? any input would be great, cause I dont know who else to ask. Thanks... Dave.

Are there any pics of the ones you mentioned in that museum, that I could see & compare mine to?? Or is it something you saw personally?

Don't take this as being the gospel and I'm no Fightin Rooster expert in any way but, I believe that Parker had these knives made for Frank Buster in Japan at the same place Parker was having his knives made there. If Frank Buster was involved with the knife in anyway or Ok'ed it's production that would make it a real Fightin Rooster knife regardless of if it was made in Japan, right?.

HI Dave Can you take a good picture of the back of the knife ware it says Japan. I have a Stockman and a trapper Fight n Rooster knives with the Invisible Empire on them but Japan is not on the Knives.All fight n Rooster knives that i have seen have Germany on the Tang of the Knife Blade.

Here is a pic of the FIGHT'N ROOSTER from the museum set . Someone has buffed "Japan" off of the back of the blade , but to be sure , it was made in Japan and is an authentic Frank Buster knife .

Frank Buster agreed to include a pearl Fight'n Rooster Stockman in the NKCA set. But he didn't say where it would be made and decided to have the NKCA model made in Japan. To get the quantity where it needed to be he probably had them go ahead and make the KKK knife as well. I have heard it was well documented that Frank was a klansman, but can't confirm. It is a nice knife (other than controversial content) and was definitely contracted by Frank Buster. Japan was not making junk back in those days, but it was the "affordable" option. I would agree to the $60-90 price range depending on exact condition.

Yes, she is a dandy indeed... most people that know her, steer clear as often as possible. She's like 14 sticks of dynamite rolled up with a 1 second fuse. As long as you "don't rub er' wrong" your o.k. "but look out fast when you do" cause she'll unleash holy terror on ya all the way.
I guess she thought I would just cower down and give it to her when she started giving me the third degree, but she was wrong... "I just took my pocket knife back home with me" now, not only can she not buy it from me, but she isn't likely to ever see another one for sale either.
