Maybe its a small timber scribe blade? The saw would be much nicer.
Its cool that its got a lanyard hole..............and the 'end of hall' pic is
also cool, looks like a Cattle Rancher/Calf Roper is coming up??

I don't think it is on the other end. It looks like two blades on the same end to me.
My guess is tongue suppressor

It certainly appears to be the whaler Frame, That's a big blade that is out, but I don't think it's as big as the spear of a whaler. Kinda looks like a whaler like big blade on the small end. I think "KnifeSwapper" Mike may be on to something with both blades from the same end. Kinda makes sense I guess with the Lanyard hole as shown.
If anyone owns a whaler, Expand the pic and place the knife on top of your screen it matches perfectly

I would think so But GEC wants to drive us all Crazy

Don't believe that spear shown has quite the same profile either. The reason I think it could be some kind of saw blade is the picture that they showed with the two man saw, Who knows

It will be a biggin though thats for sure..

I think your right about the spear profile. Maybe cause its on the small end?
Do you think it might be a hair bigger than the whaler?
Based on how that quarter looks next to it?
I cant tell for sure....
lookin at a whaler and a quarter on my desk right now.!lol::shrug::

The end of the secondary blade nearest the tube is radius-ed. That would be the part that met the backspring in the open position if its pivot was on the tube end. Thus, if the picture is accurate, not only would they not tube pivot a blade - but they wouldn't radius the back end.
My guess is a secondary saw blade beside the main blade.

Mark,
I'm 99% sure that is a Nickel we are looking at, not the quarter. Lay it next to the knife and it seems to fit. Also, Keeps GEC from creating a new frame for this Big Boy...

OK, I'll jump in ...
Given the name and the evidence already cited, I would say it is almost certainly a Jack.
My guess on the secondary is it's a file (for chain saw blades, like Barry said), based on the "thumbrest" in the spine ...
Just my .02 ...

A 2 3/8" file would be pretty worthless imo...............except for fingernails, but I don't
think too many Lumberjacks are worried about thier nails..........

.
A small saw would be a little more useful so I am hoping for at least that.
A nice flat blade screwdriver would be even better, could be fit to scout knife too......
You could tighten your saw chain with a flat blade and add a caplifter for the ride home!!.......

......LOL.
Looks like a good pattern no matter.

It just dawned on me that the notch in the secondary blade could be to release a
liner-lock on the main. Gec does place thier lock tabs just a bit back on the liner...
Sure hope thats what it is!

I would say its the whaler frame for sure, and has the same spear blade too.
The notch is for your finger to direct the saw blade. I doubt they can make a file at the factory.

Its going to great for the Camper/Outdoorsman. G&R's Although that spear looks similar to te whaler, I think it may be smaller and the profile looks to be different. Guess we will have to wait and see
