Draac, here is mine its a 2001
Closed its 4 1/8"
Open its 7"
Blade 3 5/8"
Its a solid well built knife

I think from looking at the tang stamp on yours compared to mine you are right about on the money with dating yours.

"gino" Nice knife, I did notice one thing when comparing the two knives. That yours has a clip on the backside where mine doesn't (I don't even see screw holes on the back of my knife to add a clip). Did they make them both ways at that time ?

That was another reason I thought yours had some age was there wasnt a lot of knives with clips 30 years ago.

I'm was thinking my knife might be from the 1960s or 1970s ?

I got the knife in the mail today, I used a silver polishing rag on the aluminum handles and it shines like a mirror. Not a bad knife for $24.57 off Ebay. I think this will be in my pocket awhile.

It's a big knife but as you said "Gino" she is nice and slim and sits nice and flat in my pocket.

VINTAGE BERETTA JAPAN LOCKBACK FOLDING HUNTER BOWIE KNIFE - HALF SERRATED

I picked it the "mate" to my other Beretta Lockback Folding Bowie Knife. This one is half serrated unlike my first one. I would say they are from the same time period the late 60's into the 70s. I snagged it for $36.00 bucks, almost half of what I see the newer versions going for.

The newer models are OK but I really like the look and feel of these oder ones. This first knife I posted has been in my pocket ever since. I like the way it lays flat in the pocket. I think if it came with a clip, I'd remove it, to me, it would add nothing to the knife.

nice snag Draac! Is one heavier than the other or can you tell of any differences other that the searations?

Gino, I'm still waiting to get the second one I won the other night on Ebay. I will weigh them both and let you know.

Gino, I cut the lanyard piece of rope off (ruins the slim effect of the knife for me) and I weighed them both and I was surprised at my findings, perhaps one is using aircraft aluminum handles and the other is just aluminum ? One seemed to shine better using my silver polishing rag on the two of them. Or the weight difference might be that they have slightly different "thumb pegs" to flip open the knife. (photos below of the two knives together after cleaning)

Straight blade = 96.3 grams
Serrated blade = 95.9 grams

Question: Does anyone know whether they made this same knife back then in a full serrated blade ? Be nice to get one to complete the set from the same time pieriod.

Draac, maybe that little weight difference could be from the serations? The thumb screw looks larger also?
I will trade you my black one if your interested? PM me if you want to.

Gino: You would think the serrations would be less steel in the blade and thus be lighter in weight but that is not the case. The thumb screw might be the difference in weight.

Miller's Bro: Yes the length is exactly the same.
