Just saw a smooth bone jack knife with 3OT on the tang.It certainly is not the lockback schrade of today.Any one know about these. It has OLD TIMER on the rear bolsters both sides and smooth brown / tobacco scales along with crimped or fluted front bolsters I guess you would call it.Approx.3-1/4 closed.

Could you post a few pictures of it, showing tang stamp and a couple overall shots?

and from the present owner in Australia of the only one previously known for sure to exist: "Cal...I did say only one photographed....found in a Church..perhaps its a miracle mate!...I hope another has surfaced after all this time...Herman W has told me he believes only about half dozen were ever made in the first place.and Herman originally owned mine before putting up on the Conferance Room Wall and the rest is history...so pretty scarce to say the least.....I hope this one can be photographed to be sure not a bad 2OT stamping...the sheepfoot blade against the clip, should prove in either case I'm surprised that wasnt discussed
Isnt it strange how another Schrade Walden Golden spike and now this have emerged in short space of time....with Schrade you just never know which makes collecting them all that more interesting IMO....priceless ehh?..."

Wayned, you need to arrange to have this knife photographed, perhaps by a professional in a studio, and share it on this or the "other" forum for posterity. It really is important. Thanks!

Hey,
I'm WAYNED's church buddy who has the Schrade Walden 3OT. I've been following this blog ever since WAYNE informed me of it. Finding this old knife has turned out to be quite exciting for me. I found it in some of my deceased father-in-law's old junk. I didn't think much of it, I just liked its looks. I never dreamed that it would be rare. I only wish the blades were in better shape. It had been laying in a drawer in my tool box for probably over a year along with some other old worn out knives. I have only found out what I have in the last 2 weeks after deciding to google it on the net. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the knife's history and rarity!
After reading all the responses this blog has attracted, I decided to join in and post some photos of my 3OT.

I am entertaining thoughts of selling this knife. If anyone is interested email me at: rjtj83@att.net.

Haven't decided on price yet, will consider offers.

I have the brother to that knife...2 OT and I cherish it. I also just bought a 3 OT that is missing a cover and needs some tender loving care....Unfortunately I lack the skills to do the repairs, however, there are more than a few here on AAPK that have those skills.
I'll be contacting asome of them once I have the knife in hand!

Thanks for sharing your story and pics of your knife.

Tom
