Just got a HEAVY box from California today. I wondered what it could be. I was expecting a package from Junebug, but I didn't expect it to be this heavy! Well I opened it up to find this little jewel for the eyes!

The paracord lanyard and fancy filework are the first two things to catch your eye. But that ain't all. Josh and Skyler started out with a Wenger Highlander base model. Then they added:
1) Filework / Lanyard with wood bead & 550 paracord from Iraq.
2) Cut off that useless phillips screwdriver and replaced it with FERRO ROD! If you like to make your campfire the "old fashioned" way with sparks, like I do - this is the coolest mod!
3) Modified the awl, so it has a mini flat screwdriver tip.
4) Added slots in the handles for tweezers and toothpick.

But I kept diggin':
Found all this stuff! Tourniquet (hope I never have to use it for its intended purpose!), Cute little baby knife for sparking purposes, film canister with bandages/balms/burn creams/sparking tinder, and a nifty little carrying sack that can also be used as a soapy wash rag in the field!

For those of you who don't know, I wuz once upon a time a BSA scout master. I really like primitive camping. Tried to force the poor scouts under my care to carry as little weight as possible when camping. I like stuff that has multiple uses in camp. This little soapy/scubber is a neat addition to my camping gear. I'm thinking this might be just the right size for one of them bars of soap I take home from the hotel during my travels....

It's a perfect fit! SOAP ON A ROPE!
Thanks Josh & Skyler. I like it! Might be a couple of weeks before I take the kit to the woods and give it a REAL test, but I have already started fires with the ferro rod using all three of my favorite tinders. (dryer lint, steel wool, and cotton balls soaked in petroleum jelly)
Now that's a good day! ::ds::
P.S. The Daffy Duck band-aids are a nice touch...

Very nice! ::tu::
And interesting modifications! In fact I have been wondering why we have not seen any SAKs with ferro rods yet. (At least I have not seen any)

You've got to follow up with a little test report after taking the kit to the woods! I always enjoy seeing knives and gear in actual use! ::nod:: :D
