Beautiful Schrades, Lloyd. I missed out on one exactly like your spear Barlows just last week. I'm still a little sore about it.
Made up for it this week, however, thanks to a huge assist from CK. Got me a Northfield green sawcut bone Barlow on the way. Unfortunately the knife sold out so fast it seems CK took the photo down, but it's a real looker and I'm sure I'll find plenty of opportunities to post pics once I have it in hand.
Needless to say, I am psyched.

Beautiful batch of barlows, TsarBomba!

Nice variety of bone covers. Any chance of pics of the Keen Kutter with the blade open?

I just so happen to have one here, Dan.
And yes, the Keen Kutter is the knife pictured in my signature.

People in northern Europe reportedly felt a slight quake when it was detonated in 1961. I have to imagine if you could feel the boom that you'd also run a small but not inconsequential risk of increased radiation exposure from such a large detonation - it's estimated the yield was 7-12mt more than the Soviets expected when they planned the blast, which is just
so "cold war USSR" to me in its tragi-larity.
Anyway, back to the knives! I am sneak-previewing the new Old Cutler (Colonial) Barlow I'm going to be pocketing for the first time tomorrow. Here it is with its standard production twin in Delrin pants:

Great Knives Tsar, I really like the Belknap, Blue Grass bolster.
Lovely script on that Ulster knife slinger. That is a pretty barlow.

Thanks, everyone.

That's more than a good 'un, Paul, that's a beaut. I still haven't managed to track down a single Ulster Barlow, especially one with that bolster stamp. It's definitely on the list.
I did manage to put a checkmark on one item from my Grail List. My first (and long time coming) GEC Barlow, a Northwoods #77 in green sawcut bone. CK did good on this order. I've been distractedly staring at it for hours.

Lloyd, Tony, Paul, nice Barlow's. Tony, nice score on the 77, got some of the last couple runs buy missed out on this one.
Picked up 2 this week, found an early old Schrade that did not see much use, full blades, does have some corrosion will have to work on. The other is a 1979 Case Appaloosa bone, unused condition.

If that Schrade was the one on eBay last week, it appears you were the one who edged me out. Sorry if I drove up your price. It got kind of hectic towards the end, didn't it?
I remain on the hunt for one, unfortunately. That one was a sweet one, too. Congrats!

Thanks everyone, I was pretty happy to add this one to the collection, so hard to find one with full blades. Tony that was the one, I was surprised to get it for my max bid, nice Barlow's have been going for crazy money lately.

You know it!

I was bidding on that beauty while knowing I would soon have to fulfill my #77 order, but it was pretty enough where I was considering a somewhat ridiculous max bid to take it down. I didn't even see too much corrosion besides a little patina and those blades look totally full. If I were the lucky owner I'd just gently clean any grime off, stabilize any leftover active oxidation, oil and sharpen and Bob's yer uncle. You got a find, sir, I am envious.
My consolation prize was totally worth it though.

Beautiful schrade and northfield

One of these days I'll get a GEC barlow. The funny thing about that ulster is that my dad is the one who bought it at an antique shop, he's not really into knives but he really liked it, when he showed it to me I promptly bought if from him, sometimes he jokingly mentions to me he wishes he would have kept it

This #77 was my "one of these days", as it turned out. I wasn't into slippies until late, and missed all the #15 and earlier #77 runs. Made sure to secure a notification from a dealer when the #77s were going on pre-order. Planned on one or two of those and went in search for old Barlows. One week I hit on a pretty large haul of Barlows and spent a good deal of my unspoken-for foldin money. Then the #14 was announced and reservations sold out in some sort of ridiculous new record like 30 seconds at many outlets. So since the #77 is the last new Barlow run anyone is aware of, as soon as it came out as green jigged bone I gave a strong YES. To compound things, I was incommunicado the day the dealer announced the releases and put a 24 hour clock on it. I didn't check email until the next day, just outside the 24 hours they were holding the knife. I frantically checked their store -- page can't be displayed. Was heartbroken. With an email to their customer service, though, they managed to reinstate the link and I got my knife. Thanks, CK.

That extra quarter inch or so of handle works well with my meathooks. It's like a Barlow created precisely for my hand. Haven't figured out when its maiden carry will be, but I'm thinking it probably comes to work with me at some point this week.
