Hey TJ, that sounds great.....nice high lonesome sound. Has a Del McCoury sound to it.

This young lady has a beautiful voice, and does really nice job on one of my favorite songs, Angel Band. Nice and simple. The Ralph Stanley version is good too.
I want this one played at my funeral.......hopefully a long, long.......long time from now.

I've seen that one and others and I think that it is a farce. Don't think ol' Ralph did that one. But then who knows, being from Virginia, he could be one of those "dyed-in-the-wool" democrats!!

Could be. I can't imagine him allowing anything like that to be out there without putting up a fight if it were not true.
A good friend of mine is a "dyed in the wool" Democrat. Made the comment one time that there is no way he could bring himself to vote any other way than Democratic. He's a pretty smart guy so I just don't get that.

I've got a couple of friends like that Jerry. They will vote Democrat no matter what and if no democrat is running they won't vote. The sad part is that they are professing Christians and they'll vote a liberal ticket. They just don't understand that these guys are not their dad's and granddad's democrats, this is not the democratic party as it once was.

Hey Don, I'm supposing that you knew that "He Rode All the Way to Texas" was a Seldom Scene song, WAY TO GO!! Those two SS songs you put up are killer and Duffey is at his best. Dolly Parton? She's as good as it gets, strickly iconic. Great singer and songwriter and made Porter Wagoner what he was. Though Porter was great, she made him greater. Thanks for posting.

Hey Don, did you catch the Duffey characteristics in the vocals and playing with our mando player. He is one huge Duffey fan. Ten years ago you would not have been able to tell the difference between the two.

Absolutely, he sure done his homework...and with the tasteful resophonic guitar playing in there, if you couldn't see the band , you might think it was Mike Auldridge, Duffey and the gang...Outstanding Job
[ One of my favorite "Live" bluegrass albums is "Live at the Cellar Door"... sure would like to see some footage of that concert pop-up on UTube...if any exists... ]

an ol' Andy Griffith Show clip...the feller that plays Rafe Hollister is Jack Prince...he was a professional Opera singer and declined a permanent role on the show due to his singing career. He was great...

Hey Don, those are great, I'm going to have to get Act II.
Here's our version of "House of Gold" Please excuse the background noise, it's a guy that follows us around. I gave him pretty simple instructions on what to do; push button to start and when we finish push button to stop. Guess I should have told him to keep his mount shut too.

This isn't country and it sure isn't Blue Grass (though you can hear the roots of both in it) but by grannies, it's a toe tapper.
