Interesting, that is the first Kutmaster I have seen made for New Holland farm equipment.
Mostly I see shell handle Imperials. That one must be an oldie!

Lawerence, do you suppose the notch in the small blade was intentional? Maybe an electrican used it as a wire stripper. There was another knife, not a Barlow, that had New Holland on the handle just recently here on one of the AAPK forums. Treefarmer

Treefarmer...great question, it made me inspect the knife a lot closer. It looks like the notch may have been filed out, or filed and sharpened after a small break happened in the blade. It will probably remain a mystery until someone with a much keener forensic eye takes a look.

NOT old, however, if anyone is interested.....Canal Street Cutlery is bringing out a Barlow with Stainless bolster versus nickel. I was fortunate to hold two of the prototypes while at the Shot Shot in mid January....
I can't wait to get one to add to my CSC pile

Here is my only Barlow, made by Catteragus I believe. I really like the look and feel of this one and am hoping to pick up more in this classic pattern.
Thanks,
Ronnie

That Dogs Head is exceptionally good looking.

I'm trying to recall if I have ever seen MOP on a Barlow. In any event, I have now and it is a great acquisition.

One I just picked up today. A Robeson from 1917 to 1921.

That is a very rare Robeson Barlow. The vast majority of their Barlows were of a sleeveboard pattern with rounded bolsters.
There are some with the squared off bolsters around, but finding one with the "RCC" stamped squared bolsters is extremely difficult.
That makes only the third one I have ever seen.
Congrats on that one VKD!!

Thank you Charlie and Bret. I got it at the Lewisburg Show from Tom Kalcevic. I picked up a copy of his book too.

Just a little nostalgia from 1921 to go along with so many great knives shown.

Here are a couple of old Barlows.
Top: SOUTHINGINGTON CUT. CO. Grandaddy Barlow, sawcut bone, measures 5"
Bottom: MILLER BROTHERS CUTLERY barlow. I think this tang stamp might date to the 1890's-1910, although it is just a guess. It was really nice to find such a good sabre blade on this old barlow.

That Southington is a beast, Beachtree. Very cool!
I only have these two barlows in my collection, a Russell and a J. T. Mount & Co. Both are of the one-arm variety.

Thanks dcgm4, it is a beast of a knife. But very light weight for its size and very well made. Interesting pair you have their. The JT mount has some nice bolsters. Is the Russell a cut down pruner, it has that appearance?

I don't think it was meant to be a pruner. I think someone just did a bad job sharpening it and gave the blade that curvature.
