Anybody have punch blades like these? Both are variations of pattern 22396 I think? Both punch blades are stamped with the CATTARAUGUS CUTLERY Co. LITTLE VALLEY N Y. I have seen pictures of early CASE knives with these punch blades.

Here are my latest Catt's. The Flylock is stamped on the front tang with the curved Cattaraugus stamp but the first U is missing!!
The Gunstock jack is the other one. I got both of them at the NCCA annual Mystic Conn show.

Cattaraugus made a knife they called the Whitt-l-Kraft pattern that had a blade similar to this. Its intended purpose was not as a punch but instead for use in wood carving. Think of it as a sort of "gouge" for fine detailed carving or whittling work. As with punch blades also, it is very hard to find knifes that don't have this blade tip broken off. I have an old Cat Whitt-l-Kraft with official Boy Scouts of America shield somewhere. These were made in the 1930's. Will try to locate it and post a picture when I find it.
Ken
Okay as promised here are the pics. Unfortunately the hollowed out/scoop type design of the "punch" blade doesn't show well in the picture. In their period advertising for this knife Cattaraugus described this as a "hollow-chisel" blade, saying it was unique and the only one of its kind available on any knife. My first attempt at posting pics here, hope it works!

What are you looking for? You got a pretty good response to your other posting on this knife
"I have i believe a old and possible rare Little Valley"
The knife style is fairly common with many different themes and Catt knives are pretty common on Ebay for sale. The handles were purchased separately and put together by a jeweler, or some such, using a "skeleton" knife purchased separately, in your case Cattaraugus. Keep in mind the three "C's" in collecting,
Condition-Condition-Condition. The handles are pretty worn with all the detail gone. Someone really loved that knife. I would put a minimal value on the knife, but then, I don't accumulate those types of knives.

Do a search for completed/sold listings on ebay. That is one of the best ways to value something. Take in account the condition of those knives vs your knife. Remember condition, condition, condition.
If you can't find any on there then it's worth what ever someone will give you, obviously
Good luck with it and I hope someone gives you the info that you seek

Yep, that shine makes 'em sell for more on ebay.
Makes me look somewhere else to spend my money.

Let's get the ole Catt thread back on course.

Here's a nice swell center jack. 22289 perched upon an equally as nice box.

I have a counter top display case just like yours, but it's not nearly as nice.
TJMurphy, That's the best looking Catt electrician's knife ever!!! It's interesting that
it's etched "Klein". Is the tang is stamped Cattaraugus?
