From my Case collecting days. Don't do that too much any more. The Stan Shaw went to a friend who has quite a Shaw collection. Stan is one of the last living "Little Mesters".

Here is a whittler of mine.
Does anyone know anything about Hart Cutlery other than the little bit in Goins?
Goins has:
"HART CUTLERY COMPANY NEW YORK g 1900-1920 This marking is in four lines."
Mine has the four line tang stamp.
LG4 gives the same dates & says that some were made by Camillus.
I have asked Tom Williams about Hart and he said he didn't think Camillus made them. He asked his mother who worked for Camillus for over 50 years and she had not heard of them either. Between Tom & his mom they have 85 years, IIRC, of employment at Camillus. I would think that if Camillus made Hart they would have heard of it, especially since Tom was the Historian for Camillus Cutlery.
But......the four line tang stamp reminds me of the old four line Camillus stamp.
Anyone out there have any more info on Hart Cutlery?
Thanks,
Dale

Dale,
C. Houston Price's guide lists it as "probably by Camillus", c 1920's. The font looks very Camillus-like as well. At that vintage I'd imagine it probably pre-dates the employment of Tom's mom as well as his. I LIKE that knife! Especially the unusual long pull on the sheepfoot

.
MM that's a beauty!
