All About Pocket Knives

I just recued this Pal from the bay.

It needs a good cleaning but it looks like it might turn out to be a good knife!

I have sorta been keeping my eye peeled for Pals lately.

I am posting my Pals here since I was thinking this is a "show your PAL cutlery knives here" thread.
I hope that is acceptable.....

Mike, I have probably shown some of mine before but here they are all together. The little pearl lookin' handled knife was my 1st Pal and they are not very plentiful in our part of the world. The camp knives and the cattle knives are all the same frame apparently, just different combinations of blades or an added shackle. I was pleased when I found a Pal TL-29.
The bone handles are all very attractive to me.
Have yet to run across one with both Pal and Remington marks.

Well, these old PALs are starting to grow on me.
I found this PAL camp knife..... Seems to be in pretty good shape.

All steel construction.

This arrived very recently in a group of pocket knives that I bought. This particular pocket knife was NOT the target of my purchase. It is a PAL R6495(?), 2 mirror polished blades, pyramite pearl handles, nickel silver lining, nickel silver bail, 3" closed (not including the bail), single tang stamp, penknife pocket knife. I'm pretty sure that this is my first PAL piece of cutlery. I'm quite pleased with it. It needed no cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

I started collecting them because they are made in the U.S.A. With a connection to the Remington knifes .almost every pal blade co.,pal cutlery co. Knife I have can be matched to a Remington knife pattern .the rogers bone pal used in manufacturing scales also is added bonus .I first started collecting only the bone scaled knifes then branched out to picking up some of the composite handled knifes that were most likely scale material created by Dupont .

Cattle man .heavy duty work knife built to last with tough composite handles , sturdy frame ,and heavy back springs.

That’s some really great bone ! The shield is an added bonus .I have found that acquiring a pal knife with a shield are not as readily available as those without shields .It makes we wonder if all the shields were made by Remington and when the stock pile from acquiring Remington ran out they discontinued using them ? Take a look at the picture of a R1823 I took from Sargents 3rd edition page 257 .The Pal serpentine you posted the shields look like they match up well to me ! Ha !Could be all the Remington collectors snatched up the shielded pals long before I started collecting .
