Hi Stockman, I never tire of seeing that very fine old pearl handled knife. Thanks. This one is an old fruit knife with a sterling silver blade hallmarked in Sheffiled 1896.

SK I've like those old silver fruit knives I don't know much about the hallmarks I need to study, I see these knives every so often.

I posted this in the knives and drinking post so forgive the repetition. I am wondering if anyone knows about this knife marked Buck and TOTMCTRD. According to the brief entry in Goins it is pre 1890. The initials stand for Tottenham Court Road in London. Any Buck collectors/ historians know if this has any relation to the US Buck knives? Thanks :) s-k

Here is a real old one, around mid 1800's i'm guessing. The noly marking is "levione" with a lizard. It's a slipjoint with a half stop, but the walk and talk has faded away.

Very cool old knife MM. It looks like it might be French. Do you know any more about it? Thanks. :) s-k

Thats it S-K. A buddy of mine gave it to me as a gift. He said it dated to the mid 1800's (he is big into the old mountain man, period type knives). It is stamped levione with the lizard like I said before. Steel liners, buffalo horn handles, thats about it. oh yeah, and it takes one keen edge!

mm, i think that is a pierre tarry-levigne. they used that lizard, from thiers, france. they worked from about 1864 till now.

Old Winchester in nice shape. It had full blade etch, but was covered with surface rust it was hard to do but I had to remove etch to save knife. #2640 coke bottle pre 1940. I have not seen many Winchesters on this forum. These pics are very poor sorry.

Hope this helps to fill the lack of Winchesters, stockman. Two early ones with the Napanoch style punches! Apparently Winchester used these punches for a while after purchasing Napanoch, before switching to a version easier to produce.

Hey you guys:
You really know how to collect and display. A quick question while this thread is hot. I ran across an old Robeson Ganddaddy Barlow today. It appeared to have brass liner and bolster. The blade was about 80%, the w&t was okay, the fit was good. It was reasonably expensive. Any one seen a knife such as this before and what do you think a price would be. The handles were ? shin bone with the same cut schrade put on their delrin handles or maybe it was delrin. The folks at the shop wouldn't let me heat up a needle and shove into it to test.
Thanks for an answer.
W.B.
