Hey Griz - Sure do. That was some really good music and helped put Ralph back on the map. Keith and Ricky did an album together using Ralph and the Clinch Mountain Boys while they were together with Ralph. Think they were both 16-years old at the time. Ricky Skaggs left and Renfro Proffitt joined the CMB as lead guitar to Kieth's singing. Keith then formed a band called Country Store and they released one album which I have. Keith later went on and joined J.D. Crow and New South. Keith was a phenominal talent and he'll always be missed.

Your dad had some very nice instruments, the D-41 and the KM-1000, really nice mandolin. Don't know much about the Alverez.

The Waltz of the Wind was written by Fred Rose, recorded by Roy Acuff as well as Hank Williams and God knows who else. It's a great song. The vocals on this version are by Alison Krauss.The Waltz of the Wind ........

Just one more before I quit and try to get something done today. Hoyt Axton is one of my all time favorites and he is sorely missed. This is my favorite version of Poncho and Lefty ........

Oh hell yeah. That's the one I would have posted T.J. I had a chance to see the Statler Brothers. Several years before they retired, they came to the local county fair and I didn't go. It's one of the few regrets in my life. Before the local flood of 2006 got all my albums, I had several by the Statler Brothers and now I wish I had made more of an effort to save them but that whole incident was so over whelming...

I was just jerkin' your chain because you said you didn't remember that Statler Bros. song. I'm embarrassed to admit I don't remember Carl Butler, even though he wrote one of my favorite songs, "If Tear Drops Were Pennies". Wow! What a great voice. Wow! Those goofy 60's costumes. I'm not sure why he's slipped from my mind. Maybe it's because I don't remember the 60's?

Well shucks, I thought I had a copy of "He'll Have To Go" around here some place but if I do, I can't find it. I do have "From A Jack To A King" and "Distant Drums" though. Jim Reeves was my time and my guy. Loved his songs and still do.

Ah, Johnny Horton - He fought all the way "Johnny Reb, Johnny Reb" he fought all the way "Johnny Reb". And who can forget "The Battle of New Orleans"? Fiddle players play a tune called "The 8th of January" which is the tune to "The Battle of New Orleans".
