Here is one you dont see to often.
It`s a small boy`s hunting knife with some of the best stag handles I have ever seen on an American made knife

here are a couple of CATTARAUGUS scouts. The first one is a salesman sample with different handles.

Nice ones JKB
Have you ever owned one where the compass worked?

The whole idea of putting a compass on a slab of metal was crazy. I have a couple that the needle will change position if you tap the handle but not free wheeling.

JKB,
I have never seen it in print but, I believe you were supposed to take the compass out of the knife and hold it in your hand for it to work. I have several of these and the compass pulls right out with your fingernails. None of mine were ever glued in. This would account for the ones I have where the compass is missing. The bone after many years would shrink slightly and the compass would fall out

It is an interesting one. When I searched on the web, it brought me a description on an Antique & Collectible knives page that said it is from the 1930's. I am just wondering if anyone has a catalog picture?

No picture of a 12124 but Ferguson has a picture of a 12114 that I would like to find. 4 5/8 inch odd looking tooth pick but no dog bone bolster.
