Being that you like the half stops, here is a couple...

CASE 1970 10 dot 6214. 3-3/8" closed. Nice half stops on these knives. Transition from bone to 100% Delrin occurred in 1970. So both handle types for the 14 frame were manufactured in 1970'. Discontinued in 1975 for God knows what reason. CASE also made the 6214-1/2 pattern with the master clip blade thru 1975' also. Will post a CASE XX USA 6214-1/2 in a bit. Never reintroduced. Not that I personally would buy a new one but just an awesome pattren in my opinion to have been discontinued.

Here are two minty CASE 1970 10 dot 6214. One in the pretty orangish brown 1970 bone and other in the "transition year" Delrin. Nice Spears on these knives in my opinion. Really like these two knives.

Nothing like a jack with solid half stops

Thanks Cutty. You'd really like those knives in hand. And damn you, now you have me going on a half stop kick. Not that I didn't love them before. Something about the old CASE Jacks with the awesome audible and smooth action on open, close and even at the half stop. I do love that. Don't make them like that anymore. I have two 01 patterns, a TESTED 3201 and a 70' 10 dot 9201. I think it is the smallest pen that CASE ever made. This pattern is TINY at 2-5/8 and thin! No half stops as I recall but packs some amazing snap for such a tiny knife. Minute little stamps yet clearly legible.

Monk, beautiful bone XX 14-1/2. Nice, quality example. Just love old knife like that that was well taken care of before you aquired it.

Here is my CASE XX USA 6214-1/2. Clean as a whistle inside and out. Pretty Bone with some nice white accents. It has a reddish tint to it but I personally don't consider it red bone.

CASE XX 6207 Mini Trapper. Not much mini about it in my opinion. At 3-1/2" closed, not small in my opinion.

Fantastic knives guys, Jerry I too like the 6207 mini trapper, nice pocket size for edc...prefer the pen secondary to the spey secondary on the 07, makes it seem more like a large peanut than a mini trapper ...what year did they make the switch?

Bought this 1978 Copperhead jack from Tim Greene here on AAPK last week, came yesterday. Nice brown bone, with edges (no edge picture yet) that have an Appaloosa look to them. OH

Edit to add the pile side - you can see the appaloose look to the bone at the edges of the bolster.

The 49 pattern is one of my favorites and the late 70's appaloosa mottled bone is as well.

Pretty example there Phillip. I like the bone on that one. I love that 77 -80 Bone with the white and light purple accents alot. Some of my favorire CASE bone besides the real Red and Green Bone.

Not sure if it was across all patterns but I do have a few in these years with the white edges. One is a 1978' Hawbaker's Special Muskrat. Here are a 78' and 79' CASE 11-1/2 patterns with some pretty bone as an example. In my opinion, it is this different bone color that MAY HAVE led to the Appalossa knives coming out in 79' .Just my opinion. Grind the jig off to smooth bone on the 78' mark side in this post, probably would look a hell of alot like Appalossa. Again, just a theory.

Here are a couple more Mini-Trappers...

Top is a CASE XX USA 6207.

Bottom 2 pics are mark and pile side of my 1970' 10 dot. The bone on this one is like a light cranberry color with white accent. Really beautiful in my opinion. I have quite a few 10 dots but none with that color. Beautiful knife overall.

I am really Jonesin' on those red bone 6235 1/2 jacks. Gorgeous knives. Wonder why Case quit making such an icon of a knife? I am now on the search to procure a red bone version!

NO one thinks of copperheads and trappers as jacks. They are the big jacks.

Not sure about everyone else but I classify knife type by definition. All the blades on one end is a Jack to me, no matter what the nickname is.
Technically speaking, a knife with a blade on either end that is 3-1/2" or larger is a double ended jack knife. That is what I call them.
