That knife is a beauty Perry, and your picture surely does it justice. Passed on the bone and ordered a
Tomato model, but I think the Red Bone is the top dog from the run......CONGRATS!! ::ds::

I've been meaning to do this, and tonight I have the time!
The HJ6 story started with a Case knife that got free of the Factory Collection, and wound up in my hands. I sent it to GEC, and asked them to make some, and here is the comparison from the 80-something-year-old original to its newborn grandson!
It's amazing how close the Case pattern 62074 1/2PU, and the GEC pattern 661212HJ really are!

Charlie that's a beautiful old Case knife and kudos to you and GEC for a great Harness Jack.

Yep, I only see very small differences in the 2 knives. The swedge, where it meets the nail pull and the jigging of course.

The punch looks great, maybe a bit wider than the Case?
Cant wait to get it in my hand!

Even makers of Custom knives collect production knives, when they see something they like!
This knifemaker has been collecting my SFOs since the beginning. Since there was only one HJ1 made in ebony, this is a unique collection. Thanks to Tony Bose (via Kerry Hampton) for the picture, and I am honored that Tony likes my HJs!
Left side, HJ2, HJ3, HJ1.
Right side, HJ4, HJ5, HJ6

Thanks for the comments Perry and Phil. I'll pass them along to Tony.
When I first started having them made, Ebony was not that desirable. Since then, it's off the charts!
My official SOTP* survey says Ebony beats out everything else 2 to 1!

*SOTP = Seat Of The Pants.

Charlie,
Don't know if you have one of these; if you do not I thought you would enjoy the photos. It is used and abused, but still has a lot of character. Waterville swell center Harness Jack. The punch is seriously tipped, but a punch none the less.

Well it has been forever since I even looked at this thread! ::shrug:: I should have been more attentive.
The 7th Harness Jack that Charlie has had made has been released for quite a while now. It is also a SFO from GEC, on the #15 pattern, at 3 1/2" closed, she sports a spear main with standard nail nick. And a very capable punch, not a punch that was ever patented back in the day like his other releases. But one that Charlie and friends came up with thru their own experimentation! 8)
There are 3 handle variations to this release...

Chestnut Jig Bone

Gabon Ebony

Blood Red Jig Bone

I have forgotten to snap a pic of the back of the tube that surrounds this knife. It has several lines that Charlie has written about his journey to the 7th Son, as it were. But will do so in the next couple of days as it adds some very interesting insight into the man's thought process.
This is another beautiful and very pocket friendly addition to the HJ family! One that is built for good service ability.

Dave - what a great thread! I have not read the whole thing, just the first couple of pages and the last couple, but thank you for posting. I guess Charlie really does have a passion, and it is always interesting to me to see someone doing something unique.
