It is a Sabre, two blades, single tang stamp, two stamped bolsters, 3 1/4" closed, "BARLOW" pattern or style pocket knife. The tang stamp reads "Sabre - JAPAN." One bolster reads "BARLOW" and the other bolster reads "Sabre BRAND." Both blades have a VERY WICKED snap. It's in EXCELLENT condition. It did NOT require any cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

These two pocket knives arrived recently in a large group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. I did NOT buy the group or lot to obtain these two particular pocket knives. However, I am NOT complaining and they are both keepers. Each pocket knife is an Imperial, each has two blades, each has a single tang stamp, each has two stamped bolsters, each measures 3 1/4 closed and each is a "BARLOW" pattern or style pocket knife. Both pocket knives have tang stamps that read "Imperial (crown) - PROV. R.I. - USA" The bolsters on each pocket knife reads "BARLOW" Both pocket knives are in VERY GOOD condition. Both pocket knives required some minimal cleaning. I took some pictures and here they are.

I love early history and early barlows. Just got these today they are Barlow forks. The one even has a signet seal of a lion on it.

Received these two yesterday. Picked them up from our own Knifeaholic. First is Case XX tang stamp 62009 1/2 Barlow with the sawcut redbone handle. Excellent snap on both blades, strong half-stops on both blades.

Case XX Barlow_b.JPG
The second one is a Robeson 512224 Large Barlow. It also has the redbone handles. The blade does have some wear with some scratches but great snap. Did the warm mineral oil soak on it, flushed out the blade well and wiped her down.

Beauties both...love that sawcut redbone, just gorgeous! ::woot::
Steve (Knifeaholic) is definitely the "go-to-guy" for the best selection of very cool, hard-to-find vintage knives. And he's always more than fair with his prices...which these days is increasingly rare to find. Well done both of you! ::tu:: ::tu::
