Swan Works ( for export) or Swan Werks ( for local sales), was a trademark used by a company in Solingen, originally operated by one Peter Altenbach. According to a couple of references, it was still in business through the late 1990s...don't know if it still is, though.
It appears as though Altenbach was also part owner of a factory in Listowel, Ireland...that eventually sold to Imperial Schrade, and made the Irish brands until closing in 2004.
