HOK Thread

Post by philco »

Not every knife is in mint condition with a flawless factory etch. There are many knives that have been working for a living but still have that special something that draws us to them. They don't have to be perfect to make their way in to many of our collections. This thread is for those knives. Let's see your HOKs (honest old knives) here on this thread.

Thanks John.

I'll start this picture show off with this old scout/utility stamped "Made In USA". I love these old scouts and those Roger's Bone handles flip my switch. I hope others can appreciate this knife too. :)

Great idea Phil! Minty knives are nice, but hok's are the ones you really grow fond of as you use them and they become a trusted companion.

::woot:: TJ do you have a specific rotation or does it just depend on how you feel that day as to which one gets a pocket ride?

Hey Greg, I don't rotate. I carry the same old CASE XX/USA ('64-'69) 31SAB, along with a small SAK.

Hmmm. About everything I have is a HOK. I love honest old knives.

Great looking knives everybody!

Does this one qualify? Its a CASE XX 31048SP that I bought off eBay with no scales. The seller said it was a mint example in his collection and had started to outgas corroding the blade just a bit, so he'd taken the scales off. I think that's due because I could find no evidence it'd ever been sharpened.

I sent it to Dale along with a pretty stick of walnut that dad had given me. This is what he came up with. I really like it. Excuse the shadow on the blade.

Don't know what qualifies em as 'old', but I bought this Camillus made Cold Steel new around 05 or 06. Been in my pocket the most over the last decade. It's probably my favorite folder to carry and seen more action than any other knife I have.

Most of my collection could probably qualify for this thread. But here are three worn-out specimens that are very near and dear to me, a couple of Cases and a Ward's by Utica.
