I purchased a small collection of fixed blade knives today and I have a lack of knowledge on two of them. The first one is a large custom Bowie made by Joe Yeates of Spring Texas. The knife is excellent quality and I was wondering how collectible his knives are. I think he passed away in 2013 and had stopped making knives for several years before that. Any knowledge I can gain would be much appreciated.
The 2nd knife is a Marbles Ideal I think. If anyone can look at the tang stamp and give me an idea when it was made I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance
Jerry

Nice knives! Haven't heard of the maker before but it looks like a nice bowie. You might try sending a PM to Stagman about the Marbles;he has a lot of knowledge about them.

I'm not sure about the following for your Yeats knife. I know he made quality knives and I used to see him at the HGCA shows in Houston. He made a lot of Bowie type knives.
Your Marble's Ideal looks like a pre-1940 model.

Thanks for the input. Since I posted the pictures I did see where a Yeats bowie sold for 631.00 on ebay in 2015 but the pictures weren't viewable.
The Marbles is in excellent condition with a full blade and original sheath. I guess they will both end up on Fleabay.
Re: Need some help
I have seen a Yeats Bowie and they are quality made. I think he has a local (Tx) following. I had to make a sheath for one a customer of mine had from Tx a few years ago. Really nice knives! although I'm not sure as to the value but I would expect them to be in the $400-$600 range. Terry

Re: Need some help
Joe made copies of the Iron Mistress Bowie knife and they sold quite high as I remember. They were kind of a signature knife for him.
