Post your projects for all to see.

Post by knifetime »

I thought it would a good idea to see what others are working on,so I hope we git you to post what you are working on or have just got done with on this thread.I cant wait to see what others are doing and I am sure to git some good ideas for new projects. So post away and keep whittling.
This is what I have worked on and hear are most of the tools I use to do my work besides the all in portent pocket knives.I would like to see what other tools you all use to whittle with also.

P,S.The hart and ball in cage"were both first for me" was made out of a old piece of trim wood and the canoe was made out of a old table leg, there all still works in progress.

Nice work, Knifetime! I want to do an arrow through a heart one of these days!

I've only been at this a few months now. Here are 2 of my earlier pieces.

Image

I'll post more if others do also, but all too often I find myself dominating picture threads and that's just no fun...

Thanks! The cat project I was attempting (Gene Messer's Youtube Cat video) was a lot bigger and more detailed. i was at the limits of my ability at the time so I just kinda carve that smile in there and called it a day... LOL...

Here's another shot of the cat and my first Ball In A Cage to try to jumpstart this thread a little more.

Thanks Buddy!
I got myself the Flexcut 4 piece set for Christmas, the 2 knife, 2 tool set.

I just recently picked up this knife from Gil Drake at http://www.drakeknives.com and the difference is amazing! It is a real pleasure to work with and his lifetime sharpening guarantee is just gravy on top of it all!

PS- That's Mugsy in the picture with the knife!

This is the only one I have left, but back in the early 80's, I used to carve and paint these things up by the hundreds to sale at crafts fairs. I had about a dozen different patterns for them and they sold for $10-$15 each. On average i'd sale about $200-$300 worth in a weekend, but one fall show I sold over $600 worth in 2 days. Most of it is cut out on a scroll saw and then the detail carved in. Once I had the blanks cut out, I could carve and paint about 3-4 an hour. But after about 4 years of shows, I finally got burnt out on doing them. Havn't really done alot of carving since. Like the carvings i'm seeing here though. ::tu::
