Hi Rick, and welcome to the forum. I would need a picture of the knife to be able to tell you what it is.

Welcome aboard Rick.
It is hard to tell without seeing a picture.
If you can post a picture, we can probably tell you what you have.

Rich day. Welcome to AAPK .The Ulster 580 I have has Ulster USA on one side and 580 on the other has bone handles The later 580 had Ulster USA 580 on the one side and has Delrin handles.Ulster also made knives for Imperial and Primble (934 ) using the same pattern .From the top down 580 bone ,580 delrin ,Imperial and Primble 934

Re: ulster old timer
On some of the Ulster they just missed putting model stamps on the blades.

It's only what someone is willing to pay. There is a few of the 580 turn up on Ebay and it depends on the condition of the knife.

Some of them have no tang stamps at all!
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

Some of these were part of a Prince Albert tobacco promotion. There are those on this and a certain other Schrade forum who have posted many many times on this subject and on variations of this knife.

Re: ulster old timer
I have one like that with Ulster USA on the front of the blade with no 58OT on the back or front. The oldest ones have bone handles, milled liners, and 580 T on the back of the blade.
I need an excuse to show this one off every now and then.
Nice variety Shearer!
