Limited Edition 1998 Roy Rogers Case Knife

Post by deanmm56 »

Can anyone shed some light on the true value of this knife. I know if you are/were a Roy Rogers fan it might be worth a tad more. Fellow on Craigslist says it's a steal at $500.00

My question " IS it ?

It always comes down to condition, demand and numbers produced (rarity). With a knife made in the 90's Case will have records on how many they made (although there should be paperwork with it). Maybe if you were to find that one buyer out there that just goes nuts over Roy Rogers, but there are very few Case regular production models made in the last 20 years I'd pay $500 for no matter how much or who they were engraved for.

I'm with you Bob !!!! I wouldn't give that amount of money for it either.

From what I've been able to find out, a total of 1500 were made but this knife has stamped "060 of 500 ". So, I'm thinking the first 500 had scrolled bolsters ( or should I say one of the bolsters is scrolled ).

Anyway, I was just curious as to what this retailed for new ..... If anyone can help with that ?

Thanks,

If it's an SFO, Case will know exactly how many were made (with and without the scrolling) and who they were made for. A call to that retailer (if they still have records on it) should get you the original price.

I'm bettin that the value is a whole lot closer to $50 than it is to $500.

Here is the one I just sold. SOme are worth a lot more if the card is actually autographed by Roy Rogers.
