Very Nice Jim,
My favorite, although all are super nice, is the Hippo Interior Ivory. I like the way the hue changes slightly BH

Re: Great Eastern Ivory
Jim, that hippo bark ivory is absolutely gorgeous! The hues in the hippo ivory are really beautiful!
On the subject of hippo ivory, there seems to be quite a commotion over GEC's grading of it. I can see why they would grade the pristine scales higher that the fissured ones, as they are just rarer; but I wish they hadn't called it "common". Personally, I don't have a problem with natural fissures, cracks, or inclusions but other people seem to have issues. The term "pin crack" seems to be associated with natural fissures, but they are definetly two different issues and should not be confused. I find it interesting that many find "cracks" in primitive bone or mammoth ivory are acceptable and even desirable while in 'fresh' ivory they are not. What are your feelings on the subject?
