Nice little Terrier.

One can find this pattern in both Terrier and Robeson and with regular bolsters, instead of Barlow's 1/3 the length of the knife.

Here is a Robeson Barlow with squared bolsters, instead of the more usual sleeveboard design.

It also has the "RCC" stamp.

That's a very rare combination. I have only seen that in old catalogs.

The arched stamp dates the knife prior to 1915.

The knife has hard rubber handles, a rather common material for Robeson in the early 1900's.

Had this knife had bone handles, I would have bid on it.

Someone bought it off Ebay. I waited a few weeks before posting this just in case an AAPK member had been the high bidder.

Just recently acquired the Barlow bug. Here are my latest. The one on top is Queen labeled followed by two Robesons. Each of the Robeson master blades are etched "Robeson-Master Craft/ 1 0f 200. Probably the center (Robeson) blade will become my daily carry as I prefer a smooth grip. The photos could have been better; perhaps one day they will be. In my view the fit and finish of all three knives is flawless.

Agreed, the spear point blade has always been a favorite of mine.

A review of the jurisdictions throughout my state reveals that most now require the blade length of a pocket knife to "be less than 3 inches." All of my barlows-excluding granddaddy barlows-meet that requirement. It strikes me that, at least in the "Golden State", we may have entered the golden age of the Barlow.

Here is an old Tip Top Barlow I picked up a while back.

The long pull spear blade with swedge is one I have not seen before.
I think the last Tip Top I got was a clip blade.

I need to find a pen blade donor for this one.........

I believe Queen did an exceptional job on this freshly arrived Col. Coon barlow. Both the spear point and clip point are of equal length.

Garry -- I'm not JohnnieR but I can tell you all the GEC 25's are 3" closed. Cute little devils.

I really like the look of them, but I too had to pass them up for larger knives.
I am compensating for large arthritic hands!

JR I've got to ask. On almost any thread about any pattern you are able to provide a beautiful selection of knives. So, how long have you been at this?

...Well lets see...I had over 100 knife collection when I was in 4th grade..that was right around 1974-75. That collection started to dwindle the older I got. Went down to about half a dozen or so.
Got interested in them again @2000...always had at least 10 or 12 hanging around....joined AAPK in 2006... (one of the best things that I have done).. theres no method to my madness,I don't really have a favorite pattern ..or even a manufacture for that matter...I love knives. I have around 500 .. give or take a dozen. Not a very big collection compared to others.

I know, I know...I'm posting this knife all around, but hey, it is a Venerable Old Barlow, so it does fit here as well!
Camillus #10 honey brown bone handles, from looking at the catalogs I'm dating it from 1948-1950. Heavy duty well built knife, not a smidge of wobble in either blade, handles still perfect after all these years of use....I'm diggn' it!

I found this Kutmaster last week-end and haven't even wiped it yet. It's really got some good weight, but too bad about the blades...must have been a loved knife.
