GEC Woodies
Re: GEC Woodies
I'm with you Trand ......
Seeing everyone's display fueled my fire too!
The woods do have a character all to themselves,
and are a bit lighter in weight than the stag or bone.

Hatback; nice group of photos! I'm glad to see you got that particular Tidioute Bocote; I very nearly pulled the trigger on that one myself only to decide too late! Congrats on a fine bunch!

Re: GEC Woodies
Barry .... that cocobolo toothpick took me off guard ... VERY NICE!!!
((I wasn't aware GEC produced any in the #12 (must be a short run??).))
I stitched up the pouch for my #12 snakewood mainly for pocket protection.
If I EDC a GEC, I always use a pouch ... and with other brands not so often.

Re: GEC Woodies
About time this one comes back up... Here's some new Bocote (#73L), Cocobolo (#85), Curly Maple (#53), and Desert Ironwood (#73).

I agree Monk; I'd like to see Great Eastern do more in that exact pattern with some nice wood or bone. How about some Tulip wood, or Kingwood, or even Purpleheart? Desert Ironwood would be something truly special!

Re: GEC Woodies
With a little imagination, you can just see what it might look like...
From the top; ebony, tulip wood, kingwood, and purpleheart. The kingwood is really nice; hard, fine grained, and decently figured, but they'd all look cool. Barry
