i have a case xx 6265 sab need help

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Looks like bone to me but without clear pictures of the tang stamps it will be hard to tell much more than that. Welcome to AAPK ! ! ! ::tu::

Well, on the base of the main blade next to the bolster on the side with the "Case" shield there should be something stamped into the metal. See anything?

From that info I'd say it's a 1940-65 Folding Hunter. Mint it could be worth $350-500 according to Price & Zalesky. ::nod::

Depends on how you sell it. On eBay you will probably get about half that at best. True value depends on what someone else is willing to pay. Economics 101. Good luck! ::tu::

::nod:: I know from personal experience that the very best thing you can do is to buy a few books and start read'in. My first suggestion is Steve Pfeiffer's book- Collecting Case Knives, identification and price guide. This will provide you with a vast amount of info and it has colored pics, awesome book! Depending on what brand you may be honing in on, there are many that cover a broad sepctrum of brand knives in the same book such as: The Standard Knife Collector's Guide 6th edition by Ron Stewart. Good luck and have lot'sa fun, you will become addicted!! ::ds::

Here's hoping you come back with some clear macro pictures of the knife in good light. I'm a big fan of Case's Folding Hunter and since I can't hold it, would appreciate the next best thing. Good pictures would also allow us to offer advice on spots that look like they may cause damage in the future. Nice knife!
