Wade and Butcher Safety Folding Hunter, nee Marble's

I have my own considered opinion on this "rare $1500.00 Wade & Butcher Safety Folding Hunter".

It differs from that of the seller. ::facepalm::

What say you all?

I agree IH.

The W&B blade tang appears to have been perforated, at one time, to accomodate a set of folding guards. Either a portion of the original pin remains or the hole has been filled with something of a different color and composition.

I guess he's unaware that Marble's made two different sized safety folding knives.

MY W&B has more "feathers" in the arrow than that one does.

Personally I don't like the way the blade fits into the guard. It almost looks like the blade is too long, which would be odd considering it has been sharpened. Neither of my Marbles are constructed that poorly. Having said that, the seller may have found the knife like this. Not bidding, not my knife.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

The blade is too long RedRider. It doesn't belong in the Marble's knife frame.

I have no idea if the seller knows the blade has been replaced, but he's listing the knife as a rare, possibly pre-Marbles version of the safety folding pattern and asking $1500.00 for it.

It's not worth $50.00.

It is worth $50.00 as parts. i could put that Wade and Butcher in it's proper frame and that marbles handle with correct blade would sell well. The stamp on the Wade and Butcher is correct. They varied some depending on age and what they were stamped on.
