Canal Street Display

Former Schrade President Walley Gardner and principal Joe Hufnagel joined with nine master cutlers to form a group of US craftsmen with over 300 years of combined knife making experience to create Canal Street Cutlery. It was first located in upstate New York where a long and rich tradition of quality knife making dates back to the 19th century. Unfortunately, the company closed its doors in 2015, but not before making some great knives. The brand was resurrected in 2018 as Canal Street Cutlery Co-Op & focused on making very small batches of high quality traditional knives. As a Co-Op, it was owned by the knife makers who worked there. Unfortunately, the business model couldn't hold up & the entity again ceased production.

Looks like I need to update the photo on my more recent display of swell centered jacks. I have recently added a couple more to that display as you can see in the picture below.

Very nice display there shows those Jacks off very well, I'll have to get mine in a display some..........There is one other Jack that has eluded me, and that is the oiled rams horn, SMKW were selling when the jacks came out and I never pulled the trigger In time 1 of 25 I believe.

Russell my first sighting of one of the blue ones was on ebay a couple of days ago. I'm like you, I'm struggling to keep up. Now I find out there's also a rams horn version.......... Oh well that's part of what makes this hobby fun, the chase.
If I add any more I'm going to have to use a larger display case.

The blue rope really shows well. ::drool:: ::drool::

Thanks guys. I have just today recieved yet another one I didn't have in that collection handled in green abolone. The one I already had was a Red Hill Cutlery SFO in what they called paua (a type of abolone).

I hope to somehow locate the others as time goes by but with such limited production numbers that's likely to be quite a challenge.

Gino I got that case in an ebay purchase that included one slipjoint knife in the case. It's got a glass top but I photographed it open to better show the knives.

Time for another update. I've now located and acquired one of the elusive Oiled Rams Horn models and also picked up a prototype in Angel Wing Abolone at the 2012 Blade Show. Thought I'd post an updated photo of the now expanded display.......
