remington R3493

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Any old pre WWII Remington is worth something.

To get some kind of guess for this knife you would need more infromation, like: How do the blades snap open and closed? Are there any cracks in the handles? What does the other side of the knife look like? How long is the knife?

The picture isn't really clear enough to get a good idea and, of course, the knife has two sides. Having said all of that, this knife looks like it might fetch in the $30 - $60 range if it was put up for sale on eBay. Remember, an auction site like eBay is a crap shoot, sometimes a relatively mundane knife will fetch an astronomical price (relatively speaking) and sometimes a great knife will bring in peanuts, it all depends on the quality of the description, the quality of the pictures, who sees the knife, and a host of other factors that are basically beyond your control.
