Thanks S-K.
It appears that nowadays Boker is using the 11 prefix to designate folding knives and 12 to designate fixed blades. I'm guessing the FGR is for finger groove... :P

I have the stockman version of the red bone finger groove knife - the "Hunter's Stockman" - a very nice knife as well. I love that washboard jigging pattern, my fingers seem to fall right into the contours on the scales more than the finger grooves themselves.

RandomChance, welcome to the friendliest knife site on the internet! ::welcome::
Does your knife have that wild looking shield on the handle too? That looks like the same shield used in the 2005 Tang Stamp series.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes, mine has the same shield - its my first Boker so I hadn't realized that it was different. I got it over on collectorknives.net a while back for a everyday user and I've really come to like it - it gets a lot of pocket time. In fact I like it so much that I've got 2 more Bokers on the way! I thought about getting the green bone version of the finger groove trapper but that 4" stockman pattern is always #1 on my list - gotta go with that first! I'll have to get the trapper later (if they're still around).

Looks like 1960s German made.
Look closely at the tang stamp. Is there an umlaut (two dots) over the O in Boker?
If so, it could be as late as 1970s.

Don't see anything over the O.
