Some beauties in this thread. Glad it got resurrected as this is a pattern I've only recently become interested in. I haven't any classic pieces, just a couple more modern iterations.......

Great knives guys keep them coming!!! I just got this one in the mail today. Another Ulster 4 1/2" closed with Horn handles. I always loved horn handles and you don't find many American knives with it so I am always happy when I am able to see and old one like this.

Yeah, I know... It's a Kutmaster. But here's my contribution to the thread. Even though it is what it is, its one of my favorite knives I own. It's about 4 1/2" closed, handles aren't bone, some sort of plastic I guess. The end bolster is colored weird in the pic, dont know why, bad lighting I presume.

Never apologize for posting a Utica Cutlery Company knife. They were masterful at making knives and they cut. Hence, "KutMaster".
And, if I'd known Utica Cutlery was located on "Noyes Street" in Utica, New York, before I started collecting Robesons (just because I already had two of them), I'd most likely be a Utica collector instead.

I love the English Jack pattern and if I had the money, I'd have more than just this one.

Re: English Jacks show yours
Picked up this Queen City since the last posting. I've posted it in a couple other threads but I'm right proud of it and it does belong here. I didn't think I'd like the green handles but then I got it in hand and changed my mind right quick.

Man what a great bunch of English Jacks everybody. Here's a couple of mine. The Robeson's kinda interesting with the plastic scales and painted-on shield. I'm guessing it's WW11 era. The Digbys is by Graham Clayton and has laminated wood scales. Both knives measure 41/2 inches. Slim.

A pocket knife is still an intimate personal possession of the individual who carries it and consequently deserves the best of materials, finish and workmanship in its production. (Quoted from Boker's 1928 cutlery catalog).

English Jack's are one of my favorite patterns. Kathy and I have been sorting knives, and will post a few more later. I had in my mind, the definition of English Jack, to be like these Clay's, and didn't realize the single blade lockbacks were included in the definition.

Those are lookers, Paul! I am not real familiar with the Genco? It certainly looks like a quality piece!
