Bladeshow Finds
Bladeshow Finds
I got several Canal Street Knives at this years Blade Show! Unfortunately they are home and I am in Mass. at the moment. Here are two of the prized knives I got:
Canal Street Pinch Lock Back with Whitetail Antler handles
One of a kind...Prototype that will not get into production
Canal Street Pinch Lock Back with genuine Stag handles
Another one of a kind Prototype that will not go into production
The Pinch Lock Back is the new model they added last year! I now have all of the Pinch Lock Backs they currently have made including the two Prototypes they will not put into production.
My good Friend Jason Holcumb gave me a deal on two small display cases that I am going to put the Pinch Lock Backs into.
I will post pictures of the two "ONE OF A KIND" Prototpyes and the displays this weekend when I get back home!
Thanks Canal Street and Jason!
Tom

Re: Bladeshow Finds
Those knives are exquisite, Tom!
Almost nice enough to make me buy my first Canal Street. Almost!
Sorry Wally, maybe someday...

Re: Bladeshow Finds
Those sound great. Looking forward to seeing both, but especially the whitetail antler. Was there a reason given neither will be regular production models?
Re: Bladeshow Finds
I believe Mooremaker's got a lock on the whitetail for the pinch. Keep an eye out, should be available soon
1095 Steel on the MM's rather than the standard D-2, they do like the good 'ole traditional steels!
Sounds like you snagged some beauties Tom!! If you've got the Canal Street blade and shield in that whitetail it certainly is a one of a kind

WOW now there is a supper one on one knife.
To bad CS does not have any silver Shields to go with the elk handle and pins. Perhaps Art wise they might make some....
I would buy one with elk and silver looking shield. That matches the liners and pins. Hack I mite just buy one or two with the gold shield. ..
Good photos and a knife show that you will remember along time.

I wanted to go real bad.

Re: Bladeshow Finds
I think Canal Street makes knives for Moore Maker. I know MM does not make any knives.

Thanks, Michael!
I was travelling in China during the Blade Show. I know there is a thread here at AAPK extolling the virtues of Chinese made knives. It's true that the Chinese are good at copying products. Their streets and freeways are filled with good quality American cars, made in China. I am nonetheless prejudiced in favor of American made products and that would include slip joints. Call it political if you want.
Sincerely,
Don Franklin
