...Unusual(to me) Spyderco kitchen knife...

Post by CCBill »

I don't guess a picture is really necessary to ask about a marking but if it will help, I suppose I can take one.
In some kitchen knives my Wife has, there is what I would call a utility knife about 10" long. It has a full serrated edge and a rubberized handle. The blade is etched, "Made exclusively for Spyderco, inc. U.S.A./ by Masahiro in Seki, Japan/ MBS-26 High Carbon Stainless Steel"...
I can't find any reference to this mark and am hoping that some of you Spyderco collectors will know something about it.
I even looked on feebay a while back and couldn't find one. Is there a way to date it? Does Spyderco routinely contract knives out, like this?
I thank you in advance for any information you may have on this knife.
