Interesting ploy of washing out the color in the pics to make it appear vintage. Seller is outright decieving..

I personally wouldn't call the photos deceptive, the guy COULD just be a bad photographer (a trait I share with him) however, listing this knife in the "Vintage" category on Ebay and calling it a Hammer Brand NEW YORK (when the only mark is "Hammer Brand") and thereby implying that it is a New York Knife Co. knife and calling it "Old" in his description is deceptive.

:P Thank you all !! got the money back in my account, take it as a honest mistake, seller says he picked it up at a gun show. last month i went to a gun show in CT. a lot of new schrades mixed in as vintage. keep up the good work guys ::ds::

The handles alone were enough to sound the alerts. The actual New York Knife Co Cotton Knife is a plain-jane wood handled 4" 1-blade knife. I have never seen one with any handles other than wood. One is pictured on page 237 of Bruce Voyles' Antique Knives 1st ed.
