Happy New Year AAPK!!! I hope everyone has their best year ever in 2010 8)

For this month's drawing. Adam (Darksev) Severa is donating a beautifully customized Ulster TL29. These custom and customized knife donations are my favorite kinds of giveaways. ::nod::

Adam found this one in pretty bad shape & he couldn't just let it rust away in someones scrap drawer so he gave it another shot at life. The screwdriver was removed and the spear point blade and backspring was tumble finished giving them an interesting stonewashed texture. Adam put a convex edge on the blade and fileworked the backspring. The old handles were removed and replaced with stabilized walnut. It turned out great. Big thanks to Adam!

Be sure to check out more of his customized knives on his website at...

Instructions for entering the giveaway are under the pictures. Good Luck!

Darksev, you've turned this ugly duckling into quite a swan.

I'm glad I have a chance to give a little something back to the community :) I was hoping to slot this give-away in right about now, since today is my 2nd anniversary here on AAPK. I joined on January 5th, 2008 after seeing some of Kaleb's (MuskratMan) work on (what else) a TL29 as a mere unregistered lurker.

I had him build one for me as well out of one of the Camillus knives I found in my granddad's stash, and after careful consideration, decided to try my hand at customizing as well. It's been a wild ride, as this place is a wealth of information and wonderful, encouraging people. I still feel like I learn something every time I visit.

My intro to AAPK was a TL29, and it's only fitting I give one back. It's my favorite kind of knife too, a user! :D
