Small Pot

My wife found this little pot, don't know what it was used for, Hope some one on this forum can tell me what it was used for. How it survived is a mystery. It gets real cold where she found it & It is a wonder it did not freeze & burst. Trigo

Possibly a paint pot? Used to hold the dyes for painting horses and faces. Just a guess.
