Tony Shouse is a knife dealer from around Winston-Salem, NC. When I went to the Blade Show in 1988 or 89, I bought two or three really nice Robeson knives from him. The three blade equal-end knife with the bone handles and "Carpenter's Choice" Gothic etch was one of them.

I don't know who Hardin is. But he and Shouse formed Battle Axe sometime around then and imported the knives from Germany. I've seen multiple knife sets in nice cases. Most, if not all had elaborate etches.

Actually I was hoping it was an old Morley when I first saw it. I think that is the neatest shield I've ever seen on a knife.. ::tu:: I never knew there was such a thing until you posted that pic a while back.

WAY too much SUPER COOL STUFF!!!! ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

Keep it coming.

I'm still depriving myself of nicotine.

Looking at neat knives lessens my desire to pull one or the other of the boy's lips over his head.. ::sneaky::

LOL Thanks Dale.. Great stuff!!

The kid is still on tip toes.

It's getting better. I back slid today. My contractors got into a 440V line with the drilling rig. Nobody hurt, no damage. Slowed our operation down while we waited on the people that said that area was clear to drill to come out and do some 'splainin'. Wasn't a fun morning. ::disgust:: One of the guys pulled out a smoke and handed me one. I smoked it...... ::dang:: I felt better LOL.

My drilling rig operator was pretty jumpy the rest of the day. He hit the line on the second hole and again on the fourth hole. Pretty funny when the guy that cleared the location says "THAT ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THERE!!"

We drilled 116 and only hit one line..

Here are two more shields.

Both are from New York knife Co.

The first is their Buffalo Bill Cody boy scout knife shield.

The second is their standard Official scout shield.

Here's a Campbuddy. The shield and the tang stamp are in the best shape of anything on this knife, which tells you something, huh?

I have two or three Camp Buddys and I don't think I have seen the shield before.
Usually when I find them there is not much left!
They do seem to be a rust magnet.
