New Spyderco Military

Post by Colonel26 »

Just the other day I purchased this Military off of our good friend Ken in Alaska, thanks again Ken. It replaces my lost Spyderco Endura4 which I greatly loved.

I must say though, this Military is quite the upgrade! I waited to post a review of it until is packed it a few days and I must say that I am quite impressed.

It came to me brand new in the box. The f/f is excellent (no surprise there), and after some mild abusing to test it out I have to say it's heck for strong.

I like the VG-10 in the Endura. I had no problem with it. But this CPM SV30 is down right amazing; both in edge retention and how good an edge it will take. The scales are G10, nuff said. I even like the way it rides in my pocket. But then I'm a big guy with big pockets, lol. And it's smooth as butter.

I used the think Spyderco knives were ugly and had no desire for one. Then I got my first one, a delica from John which my wife claimed and has packed in her purse for the last couple of years. I was sold on Spyderco from that moment. Best feeling knife in the hand, super handy, and high grade materials. There a beauty in that.

Excuse the dirty blade, this one's been a working!

Phil I'm not 100% sure how I lost it. The best I can figure it happened while I was on the mower. I had it clipped the the pocket of my overalls and when I came in it was gone.

Now when I'm on the mower I put it in my bib pocket!

How do you know it's a Military? It's not marked and all the Spyderco's look alike. How do you know a different model wasn't slipped in on you? Hmm? Hmm? ::poke::

Other than living by faith and trusting Ken, I looked up the markings and the specs on Spyderco's site.

Model numbers would make it easier though. Come to think of it, the endura wasn't marked with the model number or name either.
