I can't for the life of me understand why they would make it left handed.

They are opposite of the old Grizzlys. They were hard enough to open with the large spring in the way for you to exert enough pressure to push the button with your thumb, and that is the only finger on that side of the knife if you are right handed. If the button was on the back side of my Grizzly it would be near impossible with one hand. I might have to buy one just to find out. ____Dave

Original Grizzlys worked fine if you know how to use them. Converting them to left-hand offers no advantage that I can see.
