Any Canal Street Fans Out There?

Former Schrade President Walley Gardner and principal Joe Hufnagel joined with nine master cutlers to form a group of US craftsmen with over 300 years of combined knife making experience to create Canal Street Cutlery. It was first located in upstate New York where a long and rich tradition of quality knife making dates back to the 19th century. Unfortunately, the company closed its doors in 2015, but not before making some great knives. The brand was resurrected in 2018 as Canal Street Cutlery Co-Op & focused on making very small batches of high quality traditional knives. As a Co-Op, it was owned by the knife makers who worked there. Unfortunately, the business model couldn't hold up & the entity again ceased production.

Okay here's pictures of my EDC - I now sheath carry mine.
Interestingly, and pursuant to my comments above, the cannitler is one of a couple of CSC knives that does not have stainless steel liners - this is mainly because the liner needs to be crimped so that the finishing blades can go into the chamber at an angle. The overall rigidity is achieved with oversized stainless steel springs and oversized non-tarnish quality bolsters.

Technically it's not a Canal Street, but they made it so that's close enough for me.

Here are two new additions to my Canal Street collection. They've already been posted elsewhere on the forum but I decided to show em off a little here too.

Mother of pearl stockman made for the Ky. Cutlery Association in 2009 and a green abalone muskrat.

See the What's New Thread under Canal Street. Michael and Wally introduced the Lil Pete Prototype at Shot Show 2014. Michael posted a couple pictures and he also has it under his blog on the www.droppointhunter.com website.

Great looking little knife....I wanted to bring him home with me from the Shot Show, however, he needed to get back to the factory to welcome his brothers into the fold....LOL

They should be out next month....not sure what handle material yet!

I do know I will be adding the Lil Pete into my lineup of a Pinch Lock Backs and English Barlows
