Blake D. Applewhite???

Post by rugerdaisy »

Here I have a razor tang stamped Blake D. Applewhite Wilmington, N. Carolina. Red Knight stamped on other side of tang and on the front handle 4 1/2" from pivot pin to end of blade. I've searched out on this one. Thanks guys!

I've never seen that one. How does the rest of the blade look?

Best I can tell, Blake D. Applewhite was in the advertising and sales business. Your straight razor could have been a promotional giveaway or some form of advertisement for him. A few advertisements list his services as a "letter specialist." Check out these links:

Thanks dcgm4! Great links. Adding pictures of the entire razor front and back. Handles are 5", red plastic, see through when held to light. It has been sharpened, a lot of spotting but no pitting (YET). Needs a good cleaning.

As stated above, a razor most likely made in Germany and marked with the label of the company buying it.

Probably a good razor to use, but unless someone just wanted that name, I doubt it will ever be highly collectible.
