Please pray for my Father-in-law.
My Father-in-law Lloyd (Poodle) Newman has been going downhill over the last 3 months. He started stumbling around in early July. Poodle had a stroke when he was 26 just after getting discharged from the Marines. He has dragged his left foot for 53 years and doctors thought it was just getting older and was foot drop.It progressed to having balance issues, falling,to needing help getting out of a chair and needing a walker.
After seeing several specialist and 2 hospital stays they were sit stumped. His mind now is getting bad so his primary care Doctor had him admitted again to see a Parkinson specialist. He knew he didn't have Parkinson but had some similar traits. He ran another MRI and found a spot on his brain. Doing some other tests they have narrowed it down to CJD.It is an aggressive brain disorder and people only last a few months. A variant of CJD is mad cow disease. He doesn't have mad cow but it is equally as bad.
Poodle is a tuff old son of a bitch. He worked construction for 30 years after his stroke. It sounds like his time is short and by what I have read it may be a good thing.
We never know what our life's hold for us.Who would have ever guessed that you could contract a 1 in a million sickness.
My dad died over 20 years ago and Poodle has been my 2nd dad for a long time. Please pray for him and my mother-in-law Alice who has herself been battling cancer for a couple of years along with my wife and her sister. Thank you all.Roger

Re: Please pray for my Father-in-law.
Just saw this Roger. Unfortunately , I'm no stranger to losing loved ones and only love and time helps. Poodle's life was not easy, but his toughness and perseverance was an inspiration to many. Long live his memory.
