Prayers for my Dad

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Prayers for my Dad

Post by orvet »

My mom woke up about 3 AM to find my dad unresponsive; she could not wake him up.
She called the EMTs and they could not wake him either. They finally got him to respond somewhat and transported him to the hospital. He is confused and has trouble speaking. They did a CT scan on him and my mom & sister are waiting for results. Dad is currently in the ICU.

Your prayers are appreciated. Please pray that in what ever happens that God would be glorified.

Thanks guys. God bless you all.

Thanks guys.
I got an update from my sister.
They are keeping dad in the hospital for observation for a day or so.
His blood sugar is all over the map apparently; it ranged from 40 to 400 and for no apparent reason.
They are going to watch him to try and figure out what is causing the crazy blood sugar levels.

I will update again when I have more news.
Keep up the prayers, they are working! ::tu::

Dale, your last post about the blood sugar certainly sounds better than the initial post! Miss Joy and I will remember your dad and your family in our prayers. You are absolutely right, God will be glorified in what ever the outcome!

Thanks for the prayers guys and don't stop yet, dad is still having problems.
He came home from the hospital yesterday and then last night it happened again, but this time his blood sugar was down to 22. My niece lives next door and has had a lot of medical training. They were able to get his blood sugar up and the doctor said not to give him much insulin. They have been taking his blood sugar every 2 hours today. It when up to 300, so there is still a problem of some sort.

Please keep dad in your prayers. His name is Don.
Thanks guys & God bless you!
