R1823 look at those handles

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

The words vintage and antique are vague. Actually most words are vague. Even the word vague is vague.

Well, I guess I have one too. Not sure. There is no number stamp on this knife. It has an early Rem. stamp, if that makes any difference. It's 3 5/8" long.

Beautiful knives being shown.

Thanks Harold. They're a great knife. I like the long elegant nail nick they put in the secondary.

IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING.............. ::paranoid::

NO PATTERN # STAMP = WRIGLEYS GUM GIVE AWAY KNIFE (HUGE CONTRACT!!)

PATTERN # STAMP = REG PRODUCTION RUN

OTHERS HAVE A SHIELD TO SHOW CONTRACT = BABY RUTH , CURTISS , WILD DUCK , ETC.........

HOPE THIS HELPS

Thanks junebug, I had no idea it was a give away.
As I remember I had to give quite a bit of cabbage for mine.
